Formed in 1995, PRAXIS Consulting, Inc. is a small Denver-based, woman-owned firm specializing in organizational development, organizational behavior, organizational change and improvement, and high performance teams. Drawing upon a sound understanding of organizational psychology and organizational and communication theory, PRAXIS provides a wide range of consulting, facilitation, coaching, training, and research and evaluation services to organizations of all types.

Dr. Brenda J. Wagenknecht-Ivey is the founder and President of PRAXIS Consulting, Inc. As a professional consultant, she has been providing a wide-range of consulting services to private, public, and not-for-profit organizations across the United States since 1986, and internationally since 2005. In 1990, she began her own consulting practice, and in 1995, she founded PRAXIS Consulting, Inc. Her work focuses on helping organizations, teams, and individuals enhance overall performance and organizational health.

Brenda has special expertise in organizational psychology, organizational behavior, and group dynamics. She has a proven track record in implementing change and improvement processes that succeed, and helping re-shape organizational norms and team and individual behaviors resulting in higher levels of performance. She is skilled at adapting proven organizational development approaches and methods based on unique needs and problems, and achieving desired results.

Brenda’s vast experience has helped her develop keen diagnostic, analytical, intervention, and delivery skills, and acquire a reputation as a skilled change agent, strategic planner, facilitator, and researcher. Examples of her work include:

  • Designing and facilitating strategic planning and stakeholder/customer participation processes;
  • Designing and implementing large and small-scale change and improvement strategies;
  • Conducting organizational, customer, and employee research through interviews, focus groups, web-based surveys, and large community/stakeholder meetings;
  • Conducting system-wide, organizational, and team assessments;
  • Re-designing organizational structures based on contemporary design principles;
  • Establishing organizational performance measurement systems;
  • Assessing and transforming organizational work climates and cultures;
  • Developing and coaching executives and managers;
  • Building and developing high performance teams;
  • Designing and implementing succession planning., talent management, and career planning programs; and
  • Conducting skills-based training on leadership, strategic planning, implementing and managing change, building high performance teams, continuous quality improvement, succession planning, organizational performance measurement systems, and interpreting 360-degree feedback.

Brenda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Denver, a Master’s Degree from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University. She has published numerous articles and guidebooks on long-range strategic planning, executive leadership, managing change, continuous quality improvement, 360-degree feedback, and succession planning.
